Hagupit is Now A Super Typhoon To Hit Philippines

Super Typhoon Hagupit to hit Philippines. According to JTWC statement, the favorable sea surface temperatures, along with continually favorable upper-level conditions, will allow the system to further intensify and is expected to reach super typhoon status, the JTWC noted.


Bagyong Hagupit (Ruby) packed a maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph, forecast to move West Northwest at 25 kph.

The JTWC also forecasts Tropical Cyclone Hagupit (Bagyong Ruby) to pack as much as 240 kph (130 knots) winds by December 5, 2014 (Friday) at around 8:00 AM, when it is nearer the Philippines.
